Cast Iron Woks Are Great For Stir-Frying and More!
Cast iron woks are the most traditional type of wok and still the best. Cast iron woks are naturally non-stick, even-heating, and easy to season and clean. Like every other type of cast iron cookware, they also offer health benefits by helping prevent iron deficiency anemia. Though they are most popularly used for stir-fries, woks are very versatile pots and can be used to make everything from soups to pancakes!
Traditional Chinese cast iron woks work best on gas stoves and are lighter and faster heating than American-style flat bottom cast iron woks. For electric or flat-top stoves, choose an American-style flat-bottomed cast iron wok or a traditional Chinese cast iron wok with enamel, such as my own personal wok, shown to the left.
